Director : Graeme Lodge

: Ian Henderson
The world’s best-loved opera, La Bohème
depicts the lives and loves of a group of penniless young Bohemians
who share a garret in the Latin Quarter in nineteenth century Paris.
Hot-blooded Marcello, a painter, has a passionate, stormy affair
with the wilful singer, Musetta, while dreamer Rodolfo, an aspiring
poet, falls in love with the gentler charms of the fragile milliner,
Mimi. Their tender romance begins on a freezing Christmas Eve, and
comes to its tragic conclusion as spring brings its promise of warmth
and beauty to the city. Puccini’s soaring music, including
the famous tenor hit “Your tiny hand is frozen”, is
by turns romantic, funny, full of pathos and ultimately heart-breaking,
and is certain to make you laugh and cry.
Park Opera is well known for its lively and engaging productions,
with fine singing and acting, beautiful costumes and stylish sets,
and La Bohème is a production not to be missed
